Sophia Danielle

TA DA! Announcing the birth of Sophia Danielle Minnich on Dec. 19th, 7lbs, 11oz. and 20 inches long. And...she has hair! Kudos to you moms who were blogging thier birth stories the day or night of. I have not that willpower :) Plus, I'm cranky cuase I think I had the video camera on the wrong format and I'm not sure that the other pictures (more immediate to birth) will be usable. Darn! But for now these two taken the next morning will have to do. Now for the moment everyone has been waiting for...the birth story! It was a cold and snowy morning...heh, heh. I woke up Friday morning after having some mild contractions through the night (nothing this determined sleeper couldn't doze through. I got up and showered and had no contractions while showering. However when I got out and blow dried my hair I had a very strong contraction that seemed to last a long time. And then another, and quickly followed by another and so on. I called Daniel who was already at work and told him that I thought I was probably in true labor and that I would call the doctor at 8:00 to see if they wanted to keep my regular appointment or just have me go straight to the hospital (Sacred Heart). Then I started timing. 2-5 minutes apart?! I called Daniel back within 20 min and told him to come home. I called the doctor at Sacred Heart who politely but firmly suggesting not trying to make the drive into spokane. By the time Daniel got home, they were two min apart and I decided to at least go to Newport to get checked before attempting the drive. As we walked in the door I just knew that I wasn't going anywhere and I was really okay with that. The nurse welcomed us into the birthing unit, did a quick check and told me I was a 5! Epidural anyone? So we got the epidural in and it settled on one side. It was the strangestthing to have a perfect mid-line of pain and normal contactions on one side and nothing on the other! But all in all it was enough to take the edge off and I zoomed to an eight in about an hour and a half. When all was ready we pushed for about 40 min (all pretty relaxed) and out she came! This birth has been such a joy compared to my first experience and we are counting the many blessings of Christmas. May you all know the joy of the Lord this holiday season and the miracle of His glorious birth!

the belly

These pictures aren't very good but Lenore wanted some pictures of baby so here they are. Maybe I can get Daniel to take some better ones soon. No laughing anyone out there!
Oh brother, I didn't even get these turned around the right way. Sorry folks, gotta get dinner done so try not to get a crick in your neck from these. :)

Go Horsey go!

Oh, these were two that didn't fit on the other post but I really like them too. Especially the full horse one. She had such a good time getting her picture taken. On the way into town I wouldn't let her wear her dress so it wasn't wrinkled. She kept pointing across the car at it hanging in the other window and saying "Princess!" Hi, princess! It was so cute!

The Christmas Portraits

Hey there Everyone! Well, no baby news yet but I decided to take Evie in for one last hurrah at the picture place as an only child.
I think that they all turned out really well. The house is going really well, but I don't know if we'll be moved in by Christmas or not.
I'm just focusing on the baby right now and trying not to do too much (right) seeing as some of my tummy muscles just aren't what they were the first time around. :)
I'm also working at just enjoying these last few weeks with my firstborn daughter. She really is the light of my life and in this Christmas season she is bringing me more joy than I ever thought possible. I'll post some last week belly pics soon...I heard that certain people were interested in some of those (don't know why, trust me-it's not pretty!) Later!

House and Girlie

Here's Evelyn painting away at the new house. She loves being our big "helper" Of course all of you know how big a help a one-and-a-half year old are. Those quickly became her painting clothes and she now wears them whenever we go to the new house to help Daddy
As you can see we found her a roller just her size (even if we never put any paint on it)
This is the baby's room. These pictures don't do the gorgeous color much justice but you can see where the other color in the room, the beige wall, buts up against it for a nice contrast. I picked very warm colors for the house all of them in the same depth of color. Evelyn's pictures didn't turn out very well cause her room is beige and yellow and I took these in the evening with a dying camera so you can hardly see the color difference in her room, but I love how they turned out! Daniel's and my room is all in the same beige of the other walls and the living area/kitchen. We'll have white doors in the halls.
I had to throw this one in of her new hat. Ijust think she's so adorable in it! And its all lined in the softest fleece for winter. She seems to like it too!

Not 'Yo Libre?

Okay so this was awhile ago but it so cracked me up I had to post about it. Evelyn had found these undies for her pink hawaiian dress and decided to place them on her head. (of course that makes sense)
Now if you haven't seen the movie "Nacho Libre" You may not appreciate my humor here, but all I could think of with just her face peeking out and the hair top-knot was the silly costumes that the mexican wrestlers dress in.

I think she's ready for the ring. Her sidekick could use some work though... I'm thinking spandex?

Getting Dressed

Evelyn decided that she was big enough to pick out her own clothes and dress herself the other
day.

Ta Da! You gotta love the legs in one side of her pants and one shoe on (not even the right foot!)

Apparently, she couldn't be happier :) That's our girl!

summer days continued

Here's some more fun shots. I got her this pool at Wally World. It was the best 10 bucks I spent all summer! She loved it and got to where she asked for it every morning.
It fit right on the deck and we had fun together since I could at least dip my feet in it.
Aren't there some beautiful colors in these shots? I wonder if they'd print out as bright?
Ah, there's my blue eyed girl. Daddy's girl all over! Hope to get some more recent pics up soon.

Summer Days

One of these days I'm going to figure out how to do everything in the right order. Now I've got the beginning of this post at the end of the pictures... It's late... I'm pregnant.. Are those enough excuses? Okay so I guess I'll just delete the bottom and tell you here that I'm posting some pics of Evie having fun this summer.
Here she is playing with bubbles at Nee Nee's
Yee-haw!
Look at those legs! I think she takes after Daddy in many ways. She'll be taller than me someday...

Bath time!

Okay, I couldn't resist putting these pics up of the kids in the bath last time I was at Lenore's. They are just too cute!

Her she is!

Here she is! Our new baby girl at 20.3 wks and 14 oz. I think she's hugging the placenta like a teddy bear. She sleeps on one arm like her mommy. We welcome anyone's favorite girl names as Daniel and I have yet to reach an agreement on naming her! :)

Better late than never?

Okay so Daniel really knew what he was doing when he named this blog. But I thought that everyone might enjoy some more recent pics our little girl who is actually getting to be and acting so big every day. Lenore posted all the fun zoo pics on her blog and I know most of you check that too, so I'll just stick to Evelyn for this round. Except for the twinsie picture!

Parade!

Here are some pictures of the summer highlight for Newport City... The Rodeo Parade!!!! We actually had two very nice floats in it! And of course everyone you know is out and about walking downtown. We got to watch the parade with a good friend of our Laura Klein and her family.

She had brought some friends back from Seattle to see the big show... hehe. Evelyn enjoyed the noisiest things like the fire engines the most. That's our girl!
