Vanity thy name is woman

This is my new hair cut. I actually like it so much that I'm blogging it. How sad!

Seeing spots?

Here is our girl with Roseola. They are similar to chicken pox but they don't blister and are over in a few days. It is a very common childhood disease. So common in fact, that her cousin all the way across the state came down with them at the same time. Coincedence? I think not! They were here for Evie's B-Day and I think they got it together somehow. Seems very likely as they had an extreme case of "kissing cousins" while Blake visited :) We also managed to pass them on to Uncle jonathon. Whoops!

Here are some pics for Grandma Sandy. She loves sheep and apparently, so does Evelyn. Hope everyone else out there is well and enjoying the occasionally beautiful spring weather!

The Party

Hello? Are they here yet? Evelyn anxously awaits her guests in her birthday crown. Daniel and I had a really good talk the night before about looking forward to a birthday with the actual birth experience so fresh in our minds. It is totally different celebrating your child's birthday than anyone else's. He said "This is what my mom thought about on my birthday" When he looked at the clock and said I was in the middle of labor at this time last year, I told him "There's no way I'm going to think about that!" ;) We can't believe she is one year old. As I write this she is dancing if front of the fridge to her new alphabet magnet game. She has been walking well for two months and she approached her first birthday with six teeth and a seventh on the way.

Finally! Grandma and grandpa are here. Let's open presents! We had a wonderful party with all of her little cousins and a whole table full of presents. My sister Lenore made it over with her two kids and my brother and his girl and youssef and Lynne and their two girls were all on hand to witness the big event. We even had some extra friends there just for the heck of it!

Evelyn really liked being sung too and she wasn't too keen on the cupcake but she went to town on the ice-cream we had later. She is such a sweet and active girl. She is so so busy and always figuring out how things work and getting into everything!

Thanks everyone who came and shared in our girl turning one!!!!!! (And thanks Grandma for the really great dress...pictures to come later)

Look who's One!

Ah, the life of a one-year old. She's in charge and everyone jumps to her bidding.

Bath time leaves us with frowns because the fun is over too quickly

Days are filled with grins and giggles (not to mention really pointy ears)

She even does stairs (of course exactly opposite from the direction Mommy told her to go down)
